Our Fall Session begins September 19!

REGISTRATIONS BEING ACCEPTED NOW!

MUSIC.jpgHave you been wanting to learn to sing, play a new instrument, or to brush up on one you’ve played for years? The Pentucket Music Academy will be offering private instrumental lessons on most wind, percussion, and orchestral string instruments and now, voice. These lessons will be offered for weekly thirty, forty five minute or one hour lessons taught by qualified instructors recruited and supervised by the Fine and Performing Arts Dept in conjunction with the Community Ed Dept. These lessons are open to ALL ages and ALL abilities!  Please email Anthony Beatrice at ABeatrice@prsd.org if you are interested for more information.

 

The Fall 2011 session will be starting the week of September 19th!  Lessons will be scheduled in half hour, forty-five minutes or one hour blocks ($27, $37.50 and $50 respectively) depending on recommendations jointly made by the parent and the instructor.  Please add $50 per family Annual Processing Fee. Lessons should be paid in advance to the Pentucket Regional School District either in full for the semester or in three payments, with the first installment being paid prior to the first lesson.  No refunds may be issued after the session has begun. TheFall 2011 will be 15 week long. The cost for the full 15 weeks are as follows:
 
Thirty Minute Private Lesson:     Three payments of $135.00
Forty-Five Minute Lesson:          Three payments of $187.50
Sixty Minute Private Lesson:       Three payments of $250.00

Our Teacher Biographies!

Andrew Price, oboist, plays professionally in Boston and teaches oboists of all ages. He taught instrumental music at a public school for twenty years as well as having taught oboe at the Boston University Tanglewood Institute for 10 years. He now plays for The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, principal oboe with the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Civic Symphony Orchestra and occasionally with the Boston Pops and Boston Symphony Orchestra. He is happy to be helping Mr. Beatrice and the students of The Pentucket School District Band Program.
 
Greg Smith  A native of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts, Greg Smith currently serves as principal trumpet in the Glens Falls Symphony in Glens Falls, New York, and as third trumpet in the Atlantic and Cape Cod Symphonies in Massachusetts. As an active orchestral performer throughout New England, he has also appeared with Emmanuel Music, the Granite State Opera, and the Berkshire, Granite State, Indian Hill, Nashua, New Bedford, and New World Symphony Orchestras.  Mr. Smith received a Graduate Diploma from the New England Conservatory, and a Bachelor's Degree from Bard College – where he was a two-time winner of the college’s concerto competition and appeared as a soloist with the American Symphony Orchestra and the Bard College Orchestra.  Additional studies include fellowships at the Tanglewood Music Center, Pacific Music Festival, Spoleto Festival USA and the International Festival Institute at Round Top. 
 

 Cynthia Baker is a graduate of The University at Albany, with a degree in Piano Performance. She has taught and performed for over 30 years, in a private studio setting as well as such schools as North Shore Community College and The Brookwood School, and held positions in several Boston area churches. Ms. Baker attended New England Conservatory’s graduate school in Piano Performance, and has studied with many teachers, including Stanley Hummel, Jacob Maxin, Findlay Cockrell, Patricia Zander and Jean Stackhouse. She resides in Groveland.
