Steps to Becoming a PRSD Substitute Teacher

 

Qualified persons interested in substitute teaching must complete an application, obtain a district substitute handbook, and attend the substitute teacher workshop.  ALL WORKSHOPS ARE HELD 3-4 TIMES A SCHOOL YEAR FROM 3:00-3:30. Please contact:

*ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE AT LEAST 20 YEARS OF AGE*

Minimum of 2 years of college required to sub for a teacher

APPLICATION PROCESS

 

  • Completed Substitute Teacher Application Form

You may pick up an application form at the Superintendent's Office anytime from 8:00a.m.-4:00pm

  1. Letter of Intent 
  2. Resume 
  3. Personal References (Names and contact information) 
  4. Interests and availability

 

  • Two identification sources
    1. Social Security Card
    2. Birth Certificate
    3. Driver’s license
    4. U.S. Passport
    5. Other official document that establishes identity 

 

  • Completed HR and Payroll Forms
    • Form W-4 Federal Tax Form
    • Form M-4 Massachusetts Tax Form
    • Form I-9 Department of Homeland Security Form
    • Completed Fingerprint Check (Cost of $35.00 non-certified teachers $55 certified teachers)(Fingerprinting Memo to Staff)
  • Current and Valid CORI
  • Substitute Orientation
